Complete rewrite of Rails application

Due to new requirements, we created a new, more user friendly online digital certificate store.

Tight deadline

Despite tight deadlines and stringent requirements, we were able to get this new implementation successfully audited on time.

New technologies

Due to recent cryptographic support in Javascript, we were able to create the worlds’ first browser based certificate purchase process: The CSR(Certificate Signing Request) was created in the browser of the customer, no longer requiring the customer to create a CSR on the command line with hard to use tools like OpenSSL.

Improve CI, testsuite and SAML endpoints

Improve CI / Testsuite

Docfield had a great CI setup, but tests were slow. We were able to drastically improve the speed of their test suite by getting rid of obsolete code and tests as well as parallelize their test suite.

Refactor SAML authentication

Many of Docfields’ customers use SAML to login, as we had prior experience working with SAML, we were able to improve the login process and make it more robust and easier to connect new customers.

The commercial dive industry is famous for being very conservative when it comes to the digital age. Logbooks, equipment maintenance, certificates, everything is analog. In the digital age, we can do better, and so we did. DiverData is platform used by 1000s of divers and dive companies.

Redesign of core business logic

Selling mobile phone plans with different parameters, from multiple providers, is harder than you might think.

Many have tried and failed, including some big names.

Together with business people we were able to create a new and more flexible postpaid solution, so that Mobiel.nl could improve their competitive advantage over their competitors.
